Michael Bufler
Chairman of the Board of Directors
Michael Bufler started his career in 1983 with a private bank in Munich, where he worked in numerous management positions throughout the bank, inclusive of investment management/advisory and credit. His passion for his profession led him to join a high-profile family office, which was also based in Munich. In 2002, he became the Managing Partner and CEO of the Swiss affiliate of a German-based private bank. In 2011, Michael became a Partner and President of the supervisory board of several Swiss-based companies. He also serves as Trustee and Protector for several fiduciary entities.
Michael has always had a keen interest in The Bahamas, and over the years has invested his experience in the development of the financial services sector. Michael’s astute business acumen and his fluency in four languages (English, French, German, and Italian) gives him a very broad appeal globally.”
Kenris Albury
Managing Director
Kenris Albury started her career in The Bahamas in 1993. Since this time she has worked in senior management roles with a number of renowned international banks and trust companies, inclusive of Pictet, Julius Baer, Ferrier Lullin and Union Banque Privee. She has also had the opportunity of working with smaller, independently-owned institutions, the most recent being Deltec Bank & Trust Limited, where she served as Chief Wealth Manager, and was a part of the executive management team. Kenris held this role up to her departure in 2018, when she left Deltec to establish Windsor Trustees (Bahamas) Limited.
Kenris’ exposure and experience has afforded her the invaluable talent of balancing the sophistication and commerciality that clients expect from large multinational institutions, with the personalized attention others expect from smaller private banks. Throughout her career she has used this approach in servicing clients in the wealth management space, structuring bespoke products and services based on her clients’ needs. Kenris has broadened her professional scope considerably over the course of her career, having worked in most areas of private banking, including but not limited to administration, operations, Client Services, Investment Management, Credit, Banking, data management, and Corporate and Fiduciary services, the latter of which she confesses is her first love.
Tanya Hanna
Independent Non-Executive Director
Tanya R. Hanna is a partner in GrahamThompson one of the leading law firms in The Bahamas. Her specialization is trusts and estate-planning for many institutional and individual clients, both local and international. She also practices in the areas of corporate and commercial law.
Tanya received her academic and professional preparation at the University of the West Indies where she obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree in 1991 with honours and the Certificate of Legal Education in 1993. She was called to the Bahamas Bar in 1993 following which she served in the chambers of the Attorney General until 1996. In that year, Tanya was invited to join GrahamThompson and then was invited to join the partnership of the firm in 2003 and has remained with the firm ever since.
Tanya always strives to be a role model in the practice of her profession. She places a high premium on integrity and efficiency as a lawyer. She also takes pride in the work she continues to do to enhance the financial services industry both locally and regionally. She is a former Chairperson of the Bahamas chapter of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). She has also been recognized by international lawyer-rating organizations as a leading attorney in her spheres of expertise which include trusts, probate, corporate matters and estate planning and structuring generally.
